Scripture says that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and we are to honor the Lord with our bodies. How do you do that? You take care of it. You respect it. You treat it as valuable. You use your body to bring Him glory. When you stand strong against temptation, you are honoring the Lord with your body. When you take care of yourself by eating properly and getting enough sleep, you are honoring the Lord with your body. You are saying, “Lord, thank You for this gift of life. I am choosing to take care of myself so that I can serve You with my whole heart, mind and strength.”
Let this devotion be an encouragement to you to stay on track with good habits. As you honor the Lord with your body, you will be strengthened and empowered by His peace. You’ll be able to stand against temptation and embrace the good things He has in store for you!
“It is through Him that we have received grace (God’s unmerited favor) and [our] apostleship to promote obedience to the faith and make disciples for His name’s sake among all the nations” (Romans 1:5, AMP)
When you receive God’s grace in your life, you are receiving His favor. Not only is grace God’s favor, but it’s also His supernatural empowerment. God’s grace enables you to accomplish more and be more effective both in your own life and in building the kingdom of God. With grace and favor, you can make a difference in the lives of the people around you. You can “promote faith” by living a life of love.
There are people who can walk away from you. And hear me when I tell you this! When people can walk away from you, let them walk. I don’t want you to try to talk another person into staying with you, loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see you, staying attached to you. I mean, hang up the phone.
When people can walk away from you, let them walk. Your destiny is never tied to anybody who left. The Bible said that they came out from us that it might be made manifest that they were not for us. For had they been of us, no doubt they would have continued with us. (1 John 2:19)
People leave you because they are not joined to you. And if they are not joined to you, you can’t make them stay.
Let them go.
It doesn’t mean that they are a bad person; it just means that their part in the story is over. And you’ve got to know when peoples’ part in your story is over so that you don’t keep trying to raise the dead. You’ve got to know when it’s dead.
You’ve got to know when it’s over. Let me tell you something. I’ve got the gift of good-bye. It’s the tenth spiritual gift. I believe in good-bye. It’s not that I’m hateful, it’s that I’m faithful, and I know whatever God means for me to have He’ll give it to me. And if it takes too much sweat I don’t need it. Stop begging people to stay.
Then I remembered… It all started when I began to realize where I was going and I started asking myself what’s gonna happen after I get everything I wanted…and just started to feel empty.
Then JESUS came and all He did was to show HOW MUCH HE LOVES ME. That’s it. :’)
Some people think of worship as a music expression. Well, it’s not…. Worship is giving God the highest honor, glory & praise. Not just through music but in everything you do. You worship God not just because you want to, but because He alone is worthy of it. Worship is a lifestyle, it’s not just something you do during those times that you feel like doing it. You always do it because it’s that thing that you promised God that moment you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour. It’s a commitment…to serve Him all of your days and to lift Him up above anything else. To give Him the best of you and keep your strong faith in Him going. This is what true worship is, to give Him your whole life, offer it as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to Him. God doesn’t look on what you can do, rather, He looks at your humble heart that is willing to give Him everything you can out of love and gratitude. You might think it’s not enough, but the truth is God is gracious enough to take us, just as we are…
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh” (Ezekiel 36:26, NIV)
In life, we all have negative things happen to us. We go through situations that are unfair. I know people who were raised in an unhealthy environment. Their parents had issues, and now it’s making it much more difficult on them.
But here is what I’ve learned: when you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, He gives you a new heart. In other words, your blood line changes. No longer are you subject to your earthly heritage, you become subject to your heavenly heritage! His spiritual blessing always overrides the curse in the natural realm. When you understand who you are and what God has already done, then no matter what someone else has done, no matter how unfair it was, no matter how you were raised, you won’t get bitter. You won’t live with a chip on your shoulder. You realize that nothing can stop you from fulfilling your God-given destiny!
Today, remember you came from Almighty God. He gave you life. When you choose Him, you are choosing your heavenly heritage of blessing and eternal, abundant life!
